Let’s be honest: don’t you feel a little embarrassed walking out of your local grocer with a $7 bottle of wine? And yet you’ve got McKinney Wine Merchant a hop-skip-and-a-jump away, in historic downtown McKinney.
If you’re not buying your wine from owner Andy Doyle, you’re missing out.
Uncommon character, integrity, and value
That’s the kind of wine McKinney Wine Merchant sells. With over 25 years in the wine business, Andy has developed a palate for picking out what’s good.
He’s blind tasted 95% of the wine he sells. If he sells it, you can bet it’s because he’s pretty sure you’ll like it.
Here’s what uncommon character, integrity, and value mean:
I carry about 200 wines from six continents, all of which are chosen to connect my customers with achievement in ‘winemaking’! — Andy Doyle
Oh, and that $7 bottle we talked about from your grocer – Andy’s wine selection defines value with great tasting wine at competitive prices. A recent week’s top ten wines sold, something Andy posts on the store’s Facebook page, shows 5 selections priced under $12.
A Carnivore’s Wine-of-the-Month Club
What do you get when you combine the area’s best wine merchant with the area’s best locally produced grass fed beef? Cab & Slab.
McKinney WIne Merchant and Local Yocal Farm to Market have put together a wine and beef lovers dream club. Cab & Slab offers 3 and 6 month memberships for $300 a quarter or $115 a month that includes one bottle of ultra premium wine ($50+), and two servings of cut meat. Contact either store for details.
We suggest you give it a try. We did.
Clean, simple, and elegant
The atmosphere at this downtown McKinney wine shop achieves something refreshing. Aside from some locally brewed Franconia beer and a few accessories to enhance your wine drinking experience, the store screams wine.
It’s merchandised efficiently with appealing fixtures set inside an historic 1800’s era building, with hardwood floors and an elegant interior backdrop.
And before we go, let’s further highlight this friend of McKinney’s historic downtown. Andy Doyle wants to keep our town square clean — paying hard working young men to keep it picked up. Everything from cigarette butts, to tin cans, to weeds. This former Marine and wine lover sells wine of uncommon character, but may be an uncommon character himself.
And that’s enough for me to buy my wine from him. What about you?
