The doors opened promptly this morning at 7am at Snug on the Square — from then on the joint was bustling. If you’ve ever been there then you know why. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. A cozy delight, you might say.
There’s a great little outdoor seating area. Very pleasant on a cool morning with a hot cup of coffee. The inside has a boutique feel where you can shop for trinkets and things. Great for the ladies.
Hungry and in need of coffee, the lovely Mrs. Ray and I had no plan when we ventured toward the downtown square this morning. There was Snug. Sandra, the owner, was behind the counter taking orders, working the cash register, and doing exactly what she loves: engaging her customers.
As first-timers we yielded to Sandra to make us a breakfast sandwich of her choice. And she made a doozie. So good in fact, I went inside after shredding the contents of my plate to thank Sandra personally. She saw me coming, and standing at the very front of the counter, attentive and courteous, her high-five hand in the air (before mine was), all I could say is “Oh my gosh!”
A lady in line expressed, “I’ll have what he had.”
If historic downtown McKinney were a tapestry, Snug on the Square might very well be the main composition. No offense, MPAC. Sandra’s coffee house and good eats cafe embodies the McKinney, Texas lifestyle. A work of art. A place where good things are happening.
Snug on the Square is a downtown McKinney jewel. We suggest you give it a try. Unless of course, your allergic to great food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere.
