Howdy, McKinney! I’m so glad to be back. I’ll tell you more about why I took the long hiatus and what the plans are going forward very soon. It’s a new year and a new look for the site. I hope you like it.
Now let’s get back to business.
This weekend marks the CD release for our friends The Bodarks. Some of you helped them on Kickstarter and may already have your CD. So lucky. I’ve got mine.
Anyway, The Bodarks are throwing a release party at Churchill’s this weekend and you should definitely go. Did you know that the band was one of Shiner Bock/Record’s Rising Star finalists of 2013 and one of five north Texas bands chosen for the Wakarusa Winter Classic 2014?
(See what I did with the title? Instead of the British Invasion? Because Churchill’s is British and The Bodarks are bluegrass-ish.)
The Wellington International Ukelele Orchestra
Seriously. McKinney is so cool. The Uke orchestra will be playing at the MPAC from 8-10 on Saturday. You can get your tickets right here.
Get Healthy with Baylor
Ladies, if you are starting to struggle with your New Year’s Resolutions (my difficulties started precisely 22 days ago), then why not get a little inspiration at Baylor’s For Women For Life event? Saturday from 8am to noon you can get FREE health screenings, education, demonstrations and other cool stuff. It’s a great way to get motivated to continue with your healthy resolutions.
Check Out Some Classic Cars
Every Saturday at La Madeleine at Eldorado and 75, you can find classic car owners and enthusiasts gathering for breakfast and a chance to check out some sweet rides. Why not pop over and join them from 8:30 to 10:00am? It’s not a club and everyone is welcome.
That’s all I’ve got today. Have a super weekend everyone!
